Competing in the Long Hill Run 5K at Swope Park, the East Bears cross country team and Head Coach Alonzo Burton got its first team victory in defeating five other schools in Wednesday’s meet.

“It’s been a long time coming and our school is deserving of it,” said Burton.

Sophomore Jordan Bryant of East won the boy’s meet with a time of 19 minutes and 4 seconds, defeating Northeast’s Mohamed Awyes by 20 seconds.

ACE finished second overall, followed by Northeast, Westport, Hyman Brand, and Central.
