On the heels of receiving the player of the week award for football from the Interscholastic League, the accolades keep coming in for Northeast Vikings’ William Cuffee. He has been named the Hy-Vee High School Athlete of the Week for his outstanding play.

Cuffee, a junior, plays both quarterback and defensive back for the Vikings (1-1). He led his team to its first victory of the season (matching last year’s total), with a 12-8 win over the Westport Tigers.

Metro Sports will air the presentation on Friday, Sept. 11, during its 10 p.m. program.
