The Kansas City, Missouri School District (KCMSD) and the Interscholastic League announce today that William Cuffee of the Northeast High School and Alejandro Romero of East High School were selected Players of the Week for football and soccer, respectively, for the week of Sept. 4.
Cuffee, a junior, plays both quarterback and defensive back for the Vikings (1-1), and led his team to its first victory of the season (matching last year’s total), with a 12-8 win over the Westport Tigers.
Romero, a junior, scored a total of seven goals in the Bears (2-0) two victories last week against Renaissance Academy and Springfield Central. Against Renaissance he scored five goals in a 13-0 victory and two goals against Springfield Central in a 4-1 win.
Dr. Jeff McDaniels, the Chief of Staff for the District, will present the awards to both student-athletes on Wednesday.
