Welcome to the Kansas City, Missouri School District's (KCMSD) financial summary page. This page contains relevant reports to the incoming revenues and expenditures of District resources.

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is prepared annually by the KCMSD Business and Finance Department. This report provides the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, citizens, financial institutions, grantor agencies and other interested parties reliable information concerning the financial condition of the district.

The 2008 CAFR is available by clicking the link listed on the right. The CAFR is posted as an Adobe Acrobat document. The document is over 100 pages and may take a few minutes to download, depending on connection speed.

Fiscal 2010 Budget process

The Kansas City, Missouri School District has begun the process of developing its budget for Fiscal Year 2010. The process will involve a detailed review of District revenues and expenditures, as well as input from staff and community stakeholders.

The District's budget goals are:

•  Balanced budget (Current expenditures = current revenues)

•  Maintain Board-mandated $25 million fund balance

•  Plans strive to collaborate with all stakeholders

•  District regularly evaluates and monitors fiscal effectiveness

•  Strategies and action steps are updated and revised as needed to improve budget-based outcomes
